TabCmdr's way
Add tasks from any page with TabCmdr
TabCmdr is a keyboard launcher that lives in your browser. Its to-do list opens over the page you’re on, so you can write a task down without opening a new tab or another app.
Before you start: add TabCmdr from the Chrome Web Store. It has a 7-day free trial and needs no account.
Step 1: Open the to-do list
Press ⌘+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux, and type :todo. The list opens, and the search box now reads Add a todo here…
Step 2: Write the task
Type the task in the search box. Your open tasks are listed under Todo and finished ones under Done, with a count next to each.

Step 3: Press Enter
Enter adds the task to the bottom of the Todo group and shows Todo added. The box clears, so you can add the next one straight away.

Tick off and clear tasks
- Done: click the box next to a task. It moves to the Done group, crossed out. Click the box again to move it back.
- Delete: point at a task and click the x on the right. TabCmdr confirms with Removed.
- Clear finished tasks: click the Clear button under the Done group, such as Clear 2 done, to remove all of them at once.
Your tasks stay in TabCmdr’s storage on this device, so they’re still there after you close the browser. :td opens the same list.
Try it on your own tabs
Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi and Opera.
